Size & colour

A silhouette borrowed from mid-century ceramics — slightly flared mouth, soft shoulders, low wide base. The three colour options (cream, white, black) all land in the same calm register: warm, muted, nostalgic without being costume-y.

Small (18 cm) sits beside books on a shelf. Large (28 cm) anchors a console or dining table. Both read as pieces you might have inherited, which is the compliment the vase is after — nothing new-feeling about it, in the best way.

Good to know

Which colour works in the most rooms?
Cream is the most forgiving — reads warm against wood, cool against pale walls, never stark. White suits brighter, more clinical rooms. Black is the most assertive and works best in rooms that can hold it (dark walls, dense materials).

Does it feel genuinely vintage?
The silhouette is faithful to mid-century references, but the material and finish are contemporary — cleaner surface, no micro-crazing in the glaze. It reads vintage from across a room, modern-made up close.

Can I pair small and large together?
Yes, in two different colours. Same colour + different size reads like a matched set and loses the collected feel. Cream small next to black large is a stronger pairing than two creams.

Materials & Care

A little care goes a long way. Follow these simple guidelines to keep your BYHIMSELF pieces looking their best:

  • Ceramic & porcelain — wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Glass & crystal — clean with a microfiber cloth; for stubborn marks, use mild soapy water and dry immediately.
  • Resin & stone — dust regularly and keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to preserve colour.
  • Wood & bamboo — wipe dry only, never soak. A light coat of food-safe oil now and then keeps the finish rich.
  • LED & electronics — unplug before cleaning and keep away from water. Use only the supplied adapter.

This ceramic form leans that way without tipping into pastiche, and the hand-finished silhouette keeps it reading as sculpture even with nothing in it. Pampas in the warmer months, bare branches once the light goes.
