Shaped after a traditional balance scale — two taper candles sit on opposite ends of a pivoting arm, held in perfect symmetry. Lit, it reads ceremonial. Unlit, it reads sculptural. Either way, it is one of those pieces that quietly takes over a surface.

Use it on a mantel where it can be the main event, or at the center of a long dining table where it will anchor an evening. Not for shelves — the horizontal reach needs room on either side to breathe.

What size candles does it take?
Standard taper candles — 7/8 inch (22 mm) base diameter. Any tall dinner candle in that spec will fit. Dripless beeswax or paraffin both work.

Does the arm move?
The arm is fixed in balance when installed — it looks like it could pivot but it holds its horizontal line steady. This is intentional; a wobbling arm with lit candles is a hazard.

Where should I NOT put it?
Under a low shelf (fire clearance), near a window where curtains could blow into the flames, or on a narrow console where the arm reach would hang off the edge. Needs minimum 30 cm of surface width.
